Ela already has the MI experience. She graduated from Cahbriba Alternative School founded in
2011 by the husband-wife Cielito &
Pilar Habito, in Los Baños, Laguna. Yes, he is Cielito F Habito, “Doc Ciel,” once the Director General of
the National Economic & Development Authority (NEDA), Philippines.
Cahbriba educationally integrated Harvard psychology professor
Howard Gardner’s theory of MI,
with these individual intelligences:
1. Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence (“Body Smart”)
2. Creative Intelligence (“Thinking Smart”), added by FAH
3. Existential Intelligence (“Life Smart”)
4. Interpersonal Intelligence (“People Smart”)
5. Intrapersonal Intelligence (“Self Smart”)
6. Mathematical-Logical Intelligence (“Number/Reasoning Smart”)
7. Musical Intelligence (“Music Smart”)
8. Naturalist Intelligence (“Nature Smart”)
9. Spatial Intelligence (“Image Smart”)
10. Verbal-Linguistic Intelligence (“Word Smart”).
With MI, Potter’s
Place will become more rewarding to study in
aside from the fact that it is located in a famous tourist town, the 1st
class municipality of “El Nido” in
Palawan.
Cahbriba ceased operations a long time ago. But I’m
sure Cahbriba learned much from the experience. Here’s hoping I could inspire
people so that the heads of Cahbriba and Potter's Place can meet and discuss
how MI can be implemented and teach a new generation of high schoolers.@517

Slogan:
“Shaping lives.” I want Potter’s Place to also be “shaping minds”.
It is
about children, it is about education, but Potter's Place School, from Nursery
to Grade 10, is truly about learning and experiencing life in a nurturing and
affirming environment. Established in El Nido, Palawan in Year 2000, it opened
to two pre-school children. Every year thereafter, a grade level was added
ladder-type, till the pioneering batch finished primary school. We are
committed to take them all the way to the end of high school. We are committed
to these children's future.
